About this Book
Meadow Dance / Danza de la pradera is a wordless picture book that combines
the loveliness of an afternoon nap with the whimsy of butterfly dreams. A little
girl takes flight on a tour of the meadow where she has been sleeping. Upon
awaking, her memory questions the reality of the adventure. Hints of what really
happened remain to be discovered.
Similar in style to the illustrations in Polar Slumber / Sueño polar and Ocean
Whisper / Susurro del océano, author/illustrator, Dennis Rockhill, used rough
pencil sketches on tracing paper to plot the scenes in Meadow Dance / Danza de
la pradera. Once plotted, these pencil sketches were transferred to high quality
drawing paper. He then used Prismacolor® colored pencils in multiple layers to
achieve the desired color, depth and texture.
Full color illustrations are complemented by black & white iconic illustrations to
extend stories each time you read this book.
